CUPE 926 Behind the Scenes of the Front Line

Earlier this week Wilfrid Laurier University started housing medical staff working the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic.  Healthcare workers who have chosen to live away from their families during the pandemic started moving in to Bricker Residence.
CUPE 926 members are working hard to support the region’s front line workers by assisting in cleaning and maintaining the building.
The Executive has worked closely with management in order to protect our workers, including providing the necessary PPE as well as offering spaces for employees to store work uniforms and fully clean up before they head home to their families.
The Executive extends a deep and heartfelt thank you to all members who are working behind the scenes of the front line.  As well as a thank you to all members who are being flexible until we can get through this pandemic.
Stay safe, stay healthy.
