Bylaws are rules and procedures for making decisions, choosing leaders and handling the local’s finances, among other things. Our bylaws were recently updated and approved by the membership, and approved by CUPE National in August, 2019.
In a recent Labour Management meeting, a process was established for communicating to the bargaining unit if there is a vacancy to be posted.
Please note: It was decided when a vacancy is created and job posting is listed online via Connect to apply – the Hiring Manager will notify all CUPE staff via email.
Steps to be taken:
- Manager Posts job via HR
- Manager Emails out to the entire group that is has been posted – example a day shift custodial residence posting has gone up – reference competition # 0000.
- LHs from there are then to communicate to group in morning meeting an email has gone out
- If a team member wants to fill out a paper application, this can be obtained by asking for a paper from HR or via your LH
- Applicant then needs to go to HR and submit the paper work OR apply on line
